A Model Murder: This book started off slowly but I decided to stick with it. The pace defiintely picked up and I found myself, at times, deeply engrossed in the book. The book is quite lengthy and a few times I wondered if it was ever going to end. And as it got to the ending, I was disappointed. It seems like so much time and effort was put into writing the story and then all of a sudden there is this horrific need to slap an ending to it before the deadline. I enjoyed the story, the style, and the characters. There were very few, barely noticable editing issues so it did not take away from the story at all. Even though I felt a little jilted at the end I purchased the 2nd book of this series and am now reading it.Product details

Lost my way with too many characters and useless descriptions. Good story but too long ... need to get to the point.
The poor writing lets this story down. There is too much telling, to many inane conversations that tell you what you already know and the descriptions are over done and heavy. The likeable characters and interesting plot do not compensate.
Was okay. Might read more from this author.
Just finished this book and immediately downloaded the second one in the series.I really enjoyed all the characters and the plot was great. If you like your mysteries with a little romance and an interesting story line I can happily recommend this book. Thank you Celia Conrad for a most enjoyable read. Rosemary
I thoroughly enjoyed this 1st book in the Alicia Allen Investigates series. Alicia is a fresh & feisty female lead character who I liked straight away. The story line is interesting & fast paced. I've bought the 2nd in the series, Wilful Murder, and look forward to another great story from Celia.
A Model Murder was a very entertaining read.
What a great British mystery! Friends need to stick together and get justice for those they have lost. Alicia Allen is an attorney who strives to do the right thing even if it means giving up her dream job, so she can get some closure on the murder of a friend.
Alicia races against the clock to figure out who killed her friend before the killer strikes again.
I can't wait to read about the next adventure Alicia Allen has.
Ms. Conrad gives us an interesting behind the scenes look at what happens in law firms in her murder mystery, A Model Murder. We get to follow Alicia Allen as she goes about her day to day life. Right away I like this character. She's written as a full-rounded person and by no means a perfect individual. If someone gets rude or aggressive with Alicia, she has no qualms about standing her ground or saying something snarky in return.
In her journey to discover who's murdered one of her neighbors Alicia puts her own life in danger.
